We’ve come a long way from the barn dances of the 19th century. Barns started to become increasingly popular wedding venues in the twenty-teens, and they are here to stay. Many couples find them to be a more casual and creative alternative to traditional wedding venues. These rough-hewn spaces offer a blank canvas upon which you can express your authentic vision for your big day.

From rustic to luxurious and everything in between, barns are an unforgettable place to hold your wedding. Using their large open spaces, high beamed ceilings, and scenic surroundings, you can create a memorable experience for you and your guests. Holding your wedding in a barn is the perfect way to gather your friends and family together in a serene, casual setting.

With scenic mountains on all sides, open fields, and the convenience of a major urban center, Utah is the perfect place to plan a barn wedding. There are options just minutes from the city, as well as more remote locations if you want to get away from it all with your guests.

Walker Farms

Lindon, UT
15 minutes from Provo | 40 minutes from Salt Lake | 55 minutes from Park City
Starting Price $4,000 | Visit Website

Walker Farms is a modern, bright, and airy barn that is tailor-made for weddings. It’s a newly built barn on a historic homestead and is inspired by classic whitewashed styling and family tradition. The Walkers originally homesteaded the land in the early 1900’s. One hundred years later, owners Jill and Mike began developing it as a space for the community to enjoy. They raised their children and grandchildren on the property alongside goats, alpacas, and ponies.

Antique French doors welcome you into the large indoor space. Wood floors add a touch of warmth to the bright white interior. A grand staircase, crystal chandelier, lofty high ceilings, and a two story stone fireplace dominate the large main room. The barn is equipped with a warming kitchen, bride’s room, groom’s room, and elegant marble bathrooms. A vintage pickup truck parked out front adds to the charm of Walker Farms. In the summer months, you can enjoy the gardens surrounding the barn. Each detail is thoughtfully designed for classic beauty and elegance. There’s so much to love about Walker Farms!

Day Barn

Draper, UT
20 minutes from Salt Lake | 30 minutes from Provo | 50 minutes from Park City
Starting Price $225 | Visit Website

For a cost saving and more DIY alternative to full service wedding barns, Draper Day Barn is an excellent option! It is a historic dairy barn that was relocated to the Pioneer Park area. It has been updated while maintaining the original rustic feel of the barn. The exterior is white with a green tin roof. There is a small paved area, lawn, and shade trees surrounding the barn. Inside you’ll find warm wood, galvanized metal details, and some small windows.

The barn is managed by the Draper Parks & Recreation department and the rental fee is very affordable. However, there are no planning or coordination services offered. You’ll need to arrange for your own food or catering, all the decorations, setup, and cleanup. There are no kitchen facilities, so any food you bring will need to be prepared offsite. The barn is heated but there is no air conditioning, so bear that in mind if you’re planning your wedding during a warm time of year. There are ceiling fans, but you don’t want your guests to have to sweat it out in July.

If you don’t mind taking on a few more DIY projects in exchange for unbeatable cost savings, Draper Day Barn might just be the perfect wedding venue for you.
